Leo Mavely
Founder & CEO

Leo Mavely is the Founder and CEO of Axio. He holds B.Tech in Bioengineering from MDU, Rohtak and Advanced diploma in Managing tech ventures. He is passionate about meditech innovations for unmet healthcare needs and founded Axio in the final year of his college.

Leo was the recipient of Silicon Valley Challenge Award 2014, Anjani Mashelkar Innovation Award 2013 and was also an invited speaker at Indian Science Congress 2010. He was featured by Fortune Magazine as one of the 40 under 40 young business leaders from India in 2016, 2017 and 2018.

A national level basketball player in his school days, he continues to be a sports lover.

Samar Mirdha
Vice President Sales (India)

Samar is Vice President - Sales (India) at Axio. He has over 20 years of experience in Strategic Planning & Execution, Revenue & EBIDTA Growth, Key Account Management and P/L Management in medical device companies.

He started his career with Bayer and he has held key roles in India for Baxter (BioSurgery & Hemostats) & Zimmer (Joint Replacement) and Allergan. Prior to joinng Axio he was Business Head for India & SA for Oculus Innovative Sciences advanced wound care products through Biogenetix. Samar has done Bachelors in Zoology followed by Senior Management Program from IIM Calcutta.

Dr. Selvarasu S
Vice President Operations

Dr Selva is Vice President - Operations at Axio. He was operational in setting up in cGMP facility, commissioning, process scale up for large-scale manufacturing and getting through reulatory clearances in Europe and USA.

Prior to Axio, he was associated with Stempeutics Research Malaysia for 6 years as the Head of manufacturing and also with Bharath Biotech group and Ventri Biologicals handling cGMP manufacturing of vaccines and biologics. He holds a Master degree in Operations management from Manipal University and Master degree in Veterinary Sciences from Tamilnadu Veterinary and Animal sciences university. His general interests include that of Human Rights, Yoga, Sustainable and organic agriculture and reforestation,

Priya Shah
Head of Design

Priya Shah is Head of Design at Axio. She holds Bachelors in int design from CEPT university. She has more than 10 years of experience in product and graphic design. She started her career with IDO Design as Jr Designer and had her entrepreneurial stint by founding Webe Organic, a wellness product company.

At Axio Priya is instrumental in building a unique design language in product development and in marketing. She is passionate about art, photography, poetry and yoga.

Gourav Maheswari
Head of Finance

Gaurav Maheshwari Leads finance initiatives. Responsible for budgeting, Financial planning, investor relations & reporting. Initiated career with finance team of Adani Wilmar Limited where the work profile was to handle consortium of 13 banks with borrowing amount of ~USD 750mn.

Moved to ICICI Bank Ltd as a Unit Manager handling compliance work related to TDS for 39 branches of Gujarat. Also worked with BSE listed companies - Asian Granito Limited & Jaihind Projects Limited having turnover of more than USD 150mn. During the tenure, successfully implemented Microsoft Navision and SAP. His education background is that of a Chartered Accountant Gourav enjoys Travelling, playing badminton, swimming and cycling.

Dr. Kiran Sonaje
Principal Scientist (R & D)

Kiran is Principal Scientist (Research and Development) at Axio. he is responsible for developing product pipeline from conceptualization research & prototype development to clinical evaluations. Kiran has over 10 years of international experience in research and development of biomaterials and polymeric drug delivery systems.

He has a masters in pharmaceutics and doctorate in chemical engineering NTHU, Taiwan. Previously, Kiran was a senior post-doctoral fellow at University of Geneva (Switzerland) and consulting research scientist for Nanomega Medical Corporation (CA, USA). He is a co- inventor of 21 US patents and author of over 20 peer-reviewed research articles. In his free time, Kiran likes cooking new delicacies for his daughter.

Hartesh Juneja
General Manager Quality

Hartesh Juneja is General Manager-Quality at Axio. He has 14 years of experience in managing quality departments of various MNCs including FDA cleared facilities. Prior to joining Axio he has worked at Apotex, Baxter, Torrent Pharma and Glenmark Pharma. He done Bachelors in Pharmacy.

In his free time he keeps himself updated by watching news and loves listening to music.

Brijesh Pottekkatt
Group Project Manager

Brijesh Pottekkatt is Group Product Manager at Axio. He handles product management and is also responsable for vascular and defence verticals. he has over marketing. Prior to joining Axio, he worked at Satelec & Mectron.

In his previous roles he has handled sales of healthcare products including high-end Radiology and Surgical equipment’s and was also part of the launching team of Ritecure brand for Medplus in South India. He has done MBA in Marketing & HR from Mahatma Gandhi University. During free time, he enjoys spending time with his family.

Senior Manager - Human Resources

Sreeja is Senior Manager - Human Resources at Axio. Her experience includes driving change, leadership enablement, HR Policy implementation and leading innovative team building programs.

Prior to Axio, Sreeja has worked with Suvilas Properties, VBHC, Amazon, HSBC and has handled diverse portfolios such as Human Resources, Corporate communication, Risk Management and Operations. Sreeja has also been the winner of a Herox challenge called Patterns for success where she helped designing a leadership and training program to boost the successes of small business owners in US. Sreeja has completed Master’s in business administration with Mysore University. General Interests: As a voracious reader and a quintessential people person, her personal interests perfectly coincide with her profession.
